Very professional staff. Menu in English and German. English speaking staff. Excellent seasonal food. We had the 5 course menu, which seemed reasonably priced to us. A lovely evening.

Altdeutsches Restaurant

As you walk into this restaurant, you enter a distant German era, when walls were paneled with wood and decorated with frescoes and windows were leaded.  It is quite charming.  Happily, the kitchen is modern and delivers great dishes.  If you are in Dinkelsbuhl to see what life was like in the Midfle Ages, this restaurant should be part of your experience.

We loved this restaurant!  Our friends found out about this totally cool restaurant that had been in business for hundreds of years and we had to try it.  We were blown away!  The food was delicious with emphasis on different spices and herbs.  Everything we were served was exceptional.  The service was excellent. Everyone was hospitable and kind even though we didn&#39;t speak much German.  We would highly  recommend Altdeutsches Restaurant to our friends and family.

This restaurant is far better than a Bib Gourmand rating. The quality of the cuisine (matched by Spatburgunder wine service) from beetroot consomme poured at table side, quail perfectly well cooked, grilled turbot with cauliflower, and fried crisp skin but sea bass moist with artfully arranged de-skinned baby tomatoes, artichoke, potato all so attractive in minature!  Definitely worthy and deserving of a Michelin star or two.
